I tend to think my child is exceptionally smart. I think most parents feel that way about their own.
This week we were running errands and EJ shocked me not once but 4 times with her little smarty pants self.
This is for my memory:
EJ has always been obessessed with church nursery. She LOVES it!! Every Sunday morning she wakes up and I tell her she's going to church/nursery that morning. She then says "nursery" until we finally get there :)
This past Sunday she was running down the hall tripping over her own feet to get to her room as fast as possible. When she got to the door, she opened it, walked in, sat down and started playing. The ladies working in the room thought she was hilarious and I had to explain she's a little obsessed with nusery!
Yesterday I was running a few errands with EJ and AG. We live about 15 minutes away from our church and we usually only head towards that part of town on Sundays.
We were getting off the interstate and sitting at the light to turn off the exit ramp when EJ got really excited and started saying "nursery!! nursery??"
I was floored and turned to look at her. She knew exactly where we were (the exit we take to church) and she thought that's where we were going! I told her we weren't going to nursery today but that I thought she was beyond smart to know where we were!!
I've always had a very good sense of direction and my mom always said I knew exactly where we were going even when I was very young. I called her after EJ's proclamation and she said, "Well, you always knew where we were going!" My response was "But she's not even 2 yet!!"
We ran our errands and passed a Chick*f1l*a where she shouted "COW!!!" (shocking moment #2). I had another stop to make but AG was needing to eat. We were close to our church again, so I decided I'd sit in the parking lot to feed her the bottle.
We pulled in the parking lot from a completely different direction than we normally do and we parked near buildings on campus that she is not familiar with. When we turned in, I heard "Nursery?! Nursery?!" ha!! Smarty pants got me again!
Finally we made it to our last stop and by then EJ needed a diaper change. I put her in the back of the van and started changing her. She kept saying something and pointing but I was only concentrating on the diaper. I finally realized she was pointing at the door that was open over her head...and she was saying "nursery!!!!! nursery!!!!" We have a window decal with our church's name and logo on the back window and my little smarty pants can either read or recognize the logo.
My mouth just hung open in shock!
Bless her heart, she thought she was going to nursery three different times yesterday and every time I had to tell her no.
I'm pretty sure this Sunday will be extra special because of the wait :)
